I was originally self-taught, so understand what people go through when trying to get more comfortable with their PC or laptop. It can feel daunting but I am there every step of the way.
I have always lived and worked in the Cheshire area. I developed a keen interest in computers at an early age, although I graduated from Manchester University in Metallurgy of all things! I have had various computing roles for blue chip companies, interspersed with career breaks. Whether working as a computer analyst /programmer or at home, I kept up with new developments in software, hardware and networking.
No matter what job I had, I found myself naturally gravitating to helping colleagues with their IT and computer problems.
Then I had a ‘light bulb’ moment: Computers were being used by “Techies” and less so by everyone else. It seemed to me people who weren’t comfortable with their computer were missing out. I had found my forte.
Here’s my long held view. A laptop or PC or handheld device should make life easier. It can certainly help save you time and money, and help you stay in touch with family and friends. Most definitely computers aren’t just for the younger generation.
All this eventually led me to start Computeracy. I offer a Cheshire based IT tutoring service to people of all ages who want get more out of their computer in and around Cheshire and the North West.
I promise you the hardest bit is getting started. My tailored, individual tutoring is designed around what you want to achieve and always at a pace you’re comfortable with. I enjoy seeing people grow in competence and I love my work.
